THE EFFECTS OF INADEQUATE COMMUNICATION PRACTICED BY LEADERS ON INDIVIDUALS AND HUMAN COMMUNITIES

Mihail ORZEAŢĂ1    << Back to contents

Abstract
When leader’s emotions defeated their rational
thinking, their behavior generated war of words and even
real wars for too many times, unfortunately. Overestimated
ego is among the worst way of thinking and behaving for
human beings. Leaders having this negative character’s
feature marked mankind history with a lot of bloody
events. Given tremendous facilities of information
technology paparazzi and sensationalist journalists shape
and feed some people’s appetite for chatting despite of
law’s provisions that protect people’s rights for private life
and image. Drunk by their power some community leaders
disobeyed any law and committed or instigated their
followers to commit the worst crimes against other human
beings like rapes, murders, mass crimes and genocides.
Prominent leaders use undiplomatic language quite often
among themselves and this behavior stimulates many
ordinary people to behave accordingly.
Keywords: inadequate communication, undiplomatic
language, war of words, leaders’ worst behavior, leaders’
arrogance, sensational journalism.

ETHICAL COMMUNICATION: FUNDAMENTS AND PRINCIPLES FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS AND JOURNALISM

Anca Raluca PURCARU1    << Back to contents

Abstract
In this article we establish the ethical dimension of
communication for professions such as public relations
and journalistic communication as a fundamental part of
those professions. By definition, both journalism and
public relations are professions with moral finality. In
practice, they must apply the principles of classical ethics
as well as the norms of conduct in their deontological codes
that logically derive from classical ethics. In the absence of
ethical conduct, no journalists or pr specialists may call
themselves professionals, since morality is intrinsic to
both. Their communication must be ethical or must not be
all. In the same way the profession of medicine cannot be
understood in the absence of the Hippocrates Oath, neither
Journalism nor Public Relations may be understood in the
absence of strict morality.
Keywords: ethical communication, social responsibility,
public interest, virtue ethics, utilitarian ethics, duty ethics,
justice ethics, love ethics.

COMMUNICATION AND TEENAGE PREGNANCY

Magdalena IORGA1, Tudor CIUHODARU2    << Back to contents

Abstract
Adolescence is characterized by tempestuous
transformations, both from a physical and from a
psychological viewpoint. This stage of life, with its difficult
transition from childhood to adulthood is determined by
psychological, environmental, social or cultural factors.
Choices, desires, plans, vision for future life or decisions
are depending on the own personality but also on these
factors. This paper turns to a special category of teenagers,
those who experience maternity. For many of them,
maternity represents a braking factor in their psychosocial
development, while for others, it represents a choice
profoundly determined by psycho-intellectual, familial,
cultural, ethnic or environmental factors. A multidisciplinary
approach to young women who become mothers in their
teens is a necessity, especially in a context in which health
and education policies intervene to coordinate and control
a phenomenon which is not new at all, but which has been
approached a lot throughout the last decades. Family
support and good communication parent-children are
important factors for a healthy sexual behavior.
Keywords:teenager, maternity, pregnancy, child,
communication.

CREATIVITY AND INFRASYSTEMIC COMMUNICATION – AN AUTOPOIETIC SYSTEM APPROACH

Iulian POPESCU1    << Back to contents

Abstract
Creativity represents an intellectual function related
equally to an individual “neurotic” and “psychic”
condition. In support of such an idea, the author approaches
creativity from the perspective of the order-disorder (noise)
relation, known as fundamentally characterizing the living
systems, also defined as autopoietic systems. From this
perspective, the developments in brain neurobiology that
allow consideration of the brain as a contradictory
communication unit are reasons favouring this approach.
Keywords: creativity, autopoietic systems, order, disorder,
contradictory communication unit, complexity.

ELEMENTS OF AN EXTENDED RECEPTOLOGY

Narcis ZĂRNESCU1    << Back to contents

Abstract
The subject that I have called receptology represents one
dimension of the complexity science and management,
general, sequential, heuristic, epistemic or quantic. We
shall pursue at least four directions in our research: (1) a
cognitive modelling, in the view of encoding a set of rules,
in an area where information is subjective and informal;
(2) cognitive drama modelling (the process of creation/
devise/design /reception), depending on the area’s
particularities: generation, evaluation, realization/
materialization, decision; (3) major importance of emotional
dimension in the cognitive space and (creative/
informational) process, more or less conscious and explicit,
implemented by authors/producers/ generators. (4)
imperative of designing and developing a coherent
instrument.
Keywords: extended receptology, butterfly effects, cognitive
creativity.

EFFECTIVE ENGLISH VOCABULARY TEACHING IN THE LANGUAGE CLASSROOM

Adrian BRUNELLO¹, Florina-Elena BORŞAN²    << Back to contents

Abstract
Vocabulary explanations are found in all language
classrooms. While there is no lack of studies on vocabulary
learning, not many have focused on vocabulary explanation.
Effective vocabulary explanation requires a teacher to be
able to measure students’ competence level, in order to
decide how elaborate the explanations need to be. The
teacher must be fully aware of the existing knowledge of
the students in order to relate new and old information, to
highlight the essential features of the item they are required
to explain and to actively involve students in processing
the meaning of words. The purpose of this article is to
highlight some specific aspects related to teaching English
vocabulary by focusing on the qualities of a good English
teacher.
Keywords: teaching strategies, teaching qualities, English
vocabulary.

A MODEL OF THE LEGISLATOR’S POLITICAL COMMUNICATION IN STRIVING FOR THE ASPIRATIONS OF THE SOCIETY

Akhirul AMINULLOH1, Carmia DIAHLOKA1, Dody SETYAWAN2    << Back to contents

Abstract
Legislators are using political communication as an
effort to absorb the society’s aspirations. They are
responsible for channelizing public aspiration to the
government, as the party who executes every developmental
process to create a democratic and prosperous society.
However, in reality, legislators are valued to be less
responsive to any aspirations and to the problems that
occur amongst the society. This judgmentoccurred after
many of the society’s aspirations failed to be achieved by
the government. This research is using descriptive
qualitative methods based on the result of interviews and
documentation, with purposive sampling and snowball
sampling techniques. The result of this research highlights
that the factors which influence the political communication
of legislators are the pragmatic behaviours of the legislators
while communicating with their society. Legislators are
still considering the availability of the financial budget
from the government in their activities to embrace public
aspirations. In addition, thesociety’s way of thinking
assumes that legislators will provide a development
operational fund, which in reality is actually managed by
the regional government, as the institution that runs the
development and governmental process.
Keywords: Legislators, political communication, society’s
aspiration.

ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND INTERNATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

Dumitru POPA1    << Back to contents

Abstract
The environment has significant importance in
preserving the world’s flora and fauna. Its protection can
only be achieved if environmental factors are to be found
inside the domestic law. If they are outside the scope of
the domestic law, it can be achieved according to the
international treaties based on the cooperation between
various states. Among the multitude of serious problems
which the human society has been facing over the years
one can mention: overpopulation, the pollution of air and
water or deforestation of rainforests, without taking into
account the harmful effects of those actions, the rapid
extinction of some endangered plant and animal species,
“the greenhouse effect” (the heating of the Earth’s surface),
the destruction of forests and lakes because of acid rain,
the thinning of the Earth’s protective ozone layer and other
situations that destroy and damage the planet. All these
elements mix together and they are the result of human
action over the last two centuries. Many of the ecological
catastrophes are the result of “technological innovations”
– such as the internal combustion engine, which, over the
years, had more and more negative consequences of the
climate and the environment.
Keywords: environment, global fauna, pollution, ecosystem,
neutralization, independent.

THE UNIFICATION OF PLATFORMS IN THE VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT AND THE CITIZEN JOURNALISM

Ionel PINTILII1    << Back to contents

Abstract
Various studies conclude that from the point of view
of journalists, the media convergence brings an
improvement in the quality of journalism. Others argue
that this phenomenon is rather a managerial subterfuge,
as it requires fewer staff, and by default fewer journalists.
The media convergence encourages the public to participate
in the process of creating the content, but as a downside
called upon is the difference in participation in that certain
segments of the public are neglected and are unable to
participate in the new media culture.
Keywords: virtual environment, citizen journalism,
informational content, media convergence, media producer.

attribute to more and more professionals, being able to
create, promote and grow it through social media can be a
very easy and handy way. The paper shows how social
media helps and opens doors for personal branding and
those who find out how to use it will enrich their succes
through new career opportunities, partnerships and
