THE MYTHICAL TIME IN THE VISION OF SOLOMON MARCUS

Victoria FONARI1    << Back to contents

Abstract Time is the phenomenon that is researched from a multidimensional point of view. The competences of Acad. Solomon Marcus in mathematical, linguistic and semiotic sciences imply a distinction between the physical and the artistic time. Taking into account the possibilities of destiny, he was also interested in the studies of MirceaEliade. Our paper distinguishes the time phenomenon out of many categories accessed by Solomon Marcus, the term mythical time being our priority. The time phenomenonis related, sine qua non, to space, however, in the chronotropedichotomy the researcher dissociates time studies its antinomian facet - timelessness, but he places it in front of the mirror - the person. Awareness of time is inherent to man. Time seen as part of a triptych receives these connotations that it estimates from the perspective of myth –the cyclicality, uniqueness, continuous present, timelessness. They are all determined by the existential mode of being, both of actual actions, which can be counted in real time, and also those that are lived, which capitalize on the inward time, a time of emotions, the one that confronts eternity in a moment. Keywords: mythical time, timelessness, mythical thinking, chaos, order, interdisciplinary.

INFORMATION SECURITY OF REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA IN THE CONTEXT OF RUSSIA – WEST CONTRADICTIONS

Aurelian LAVRIC1    << Back to contents

Abstract Among a multitude of problems on security, in the context of the process of modernization and state building in the Republic of Moldova, in order to achieve a functional state structure and a society compatible with the EU states members, the Moldovan state faces challenges regarding cyber and information security. The globalization process, as context, enforces these challenges. Such phenomenon as hybrid war, meaning a kind of confrontation based mostly, or first of all on the use of information (or disinformation) has to be studied in Communication Sciences. In the current historical period, the globalization process (meaning the proliferation of modern technologies as well as the content of liberal democracy values and principles) has an impact on global politics: on the reconfiguration of the world order. In the context of the topical hybrid war, specialists in Communication can and should have the knowledge and skills to cover also the field of Security Studies. This will be a certain advantage for them on the national and international labor markets. Keywords: Information Security, Hybrid War, Resilience, Cyber Security, Republic of Moldova.

THE PEACE MISSION FULFILLED BY THE ROMANIAN ARMY IN GALICIA IN 1919

Mihai LUCHIAN1    << Back to contents

Abstract The union between Bukovina and Romania belongs to some unitary mass movements with consonant ideals. The gatherings organized by Romanian leaders in Chisinau, Chernivtsi and Alba Iulia took place in difficult conditions, while the Bolshevik gangs, the Ukrainian nationalists and the Austro-Hungarian authorities exerted a systematic harassment, intimidation and domination campaign in order to destabilize and to trigger a red revolution associated with the one from Russia. In these difficult conditions, one can say that The Great Union took place due to the imperative desire of the Romanian people, but this wouldn’t have been possible without the presence, protection and intervention of the Romanian Army. The political decisions of the government in Iasi were prompt and enjoyed a real success. The May 1918 Bucharest peace with the Central Powers obliged Romania to substantially reduce its military power. Although only four contingents were kept under arms, the Infantry Divisions 6 and 7, respectively Hunters Divisions 1 and 2, they got into Transylvania and strengthened the Mures lines, a division originally agreed with the Entente Powers and Infantry Division 8 got into Bukovina and it protected it until the clashes with Galicia and Pocutia. We possessed ideals and objectives of ethnic unity which this nation fulfilled under extremely unfavourable conditions. This is exactly why the Romanians’ state existence throughout the millenniums has not been interrupted, as history records in the case of some neighbouring countries, Hungary (1526) and, some years later, Poland (1772). Keywords: ethnic unity, red revolution, military power, Romanian army, state existence.

NICOLAE IORGA’S FRANCOPHILOPHONIAAND HIS ROMANISM

Sanda-Maria ARDELEANU1    << Back to contents

Abstract Nicolae Iorga’s work is strongly influenced by his proximity to the French language and culture. The fact that Iorga could speak many foreign languages allowed him to successfully communicate with the academic and the political environment. Today, we speak about a Frenchphilophony when it comes to Nicolae Iorga. This concept refers to the huge broadcasting potential of the French language and culture in non-French environments, in politics, in business and, last but not least, in culture. The aim of this article is to analyse Iorga’s proximity to the French language and culture and to other European cultures, a proximity which strengthened the scholar’s unlimited love and respect for his own people, a belief that he stated over and over again throughout his life and for which he had to pay with his life. Keywords: Nicolae Iorga, plurilingualism, French language and culture, French-philophony.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING AS A SOCIAL PHENOMENON AND MEDIA EVENT: CONTEXTUALIZATION AND SPEECH

Ludmila RUSNAC1    << Back to contents

Abstract By publicizing cases of human trafficking, media outlets carry out several essential functions: informing the public about the existence, specifics and forms of this phenomenon, raising the population’s awareness about the victims of human trafficking, as well as the social prevention function. The phenomenon of human trafficking is publicized sporadically on informational platforms, predominantly via news. Most of the materials published during the monitoring period are based on press releases disseminated by various state bodies regarding convictions related to human trafficking. In terms of contextualization of media discourse, it should be mentioned that online platforms treat the human trafficking phenomenon along the following dimensions: prevention of the phenomenon, presentation of the trafficking scenario and outcome of trafficking cases. At the level of the discourse, we have identified the following peculiarities: informative and inciting headlines, at times ironic attitude towards the victims of sex trafficking, unconcealed accounts of victims, and presentation by sensationalizing. Keywords: human traffic, media, social.

THE METAMORPHOSES OF MEDIA COMMUNICATION IN THE DIGITAL AGE

Andrei DUMBRĂVEANU1    << Back to contents

Abstract The digital age has replaced the linear (analog) systems of processing, transmitting / receiving information with numerical or binary systems, thus broadening the possibilities of civilization to communicate. The communication transforms interpersonal relationships, modifies the way of being of people. A new society emerges, of transparency, where the information flows unrestrictedly, unlimited, and the responsibility of the individuals for the distributed information is reduced considerably. In the digital age, the term “post-truth” appears, which soon becomes popular. The post-truth does nothing else but to reanimate and give new dimensions to a struggle as old as the world between truth and lie. Today in this fight, the internet - the product of the digital era - mobilizes more than half of the world’s population, and the manipulation techniques, of psychological warfare, become the main weapons in communication. The Internet has launched social networks, has given birth to citizen journalism, often calls for the manipulation techniques to form political guidelines, to change beliefs, to influence the decision-making, makes the media communication that has substantially contributed to changing modern society and post -modernly suffer too quantitative-qualitative transformations, new metamorphoses. Keywords: digital age, networks, internet, media, manipulation, post-truth, toxic, globalization, Oxford Dictionary, communication, information, dissemination.

Proceedings of International Congress

AC. Gheorghe Păun1    << Back to contents

Abstract A vast subject that can “explain” many of the processes of the contemporary world, many of its “diseases”, processes that have begun for many centuries, but which have been accelerated and worsened, in parallel by the technological revolutions. The third revolution, based on digitization, and the fourth, based on connectivity, have created tremendous possibilities of communication and manipulation. As expected, the exaggerations (cynically-interested) of globalization (“globalizers”) have produced contradictory, more explicit and articulate reactions, from the philosophical, cultural, political and civic level. Europe is not only a source of many related “theories” but also a “test laboratory” for many experiments - for many reasons, Romania is more vulnerable than other countries, but also helped by a stronger conservative tradition. In this presentation will be related to all these aspects, invoking different views, examples, recent publications, significant statements (in particular, the Paris Declaration of October 2017), leading to worried conclusions about the world of Europe (“ages “Human civilization?”), but more optimistic about the “perseverance of the Romanian people” (Eminescu). Keywords: centenary, globalization, manipulation.
