FROM CRISIS, BUILD STABILITY “COOPERATION FOR BUILDING A MORE INCLUSIVE WORLD” ISTANBUL, 21-22 FEBRUARY 2024 EXPECTATIONS MECHANISMS OF ECONOMICS UNDER THE UNCERTAINTIES RELATED TO AN UNSETTLING NEW WORLD ORDER AND CLIMATE CHANGE

Petre ROMAN1    << Back to contents

Abstract
Some people say that expectation is an illusion, based
on a betrayal mechanism. Yet the psychology of human
behaviour shows that the concept of expectation is a very
central one for the explanation of real-life behavioural
phenomena. The expectations concept plays a major role
in the field of economic psychology. The operational
aspects of measuring expectations and of using them in
behavioural forecasts and control are of primary concern.
For Keynes an emphasis on expectations meant an
emphasis on the uncertainty of decision making, the
frequency of mistakes, the need for time in which to adjust
to unanticipated events, and the disorder of economic
systems.
Keywords: economics, climate change, cooperation.

MANAGING REPUTATION CRISES IN CORPORATE COMMUNICATION

Vasile ROMAN1, Maria ROMAN2    << Back to contents

Abstract
In the last thirty years, the Romanian society has been
in a permanent search for a way to adopt the values of
Western democracy, but identifying it is difficult. The lack
of transparency of political and administrative institutions,
determined by the frequent “reputation” crises of their
leaders, makes it difficult for the society to identify which
values deserve to be defended and which are those that are
better to be “adapted” to the Romanian collective mentality.
Being aware of the fact that the collective mind in each of
the historical-geographical regions is influenced by the
common history with the neighbouring peoples, the
Romanian society places itself in different positions towards
condemning or defending people whose reputation is
questionable. The representatives of state institutions and
public relations bodies behave like the population, delivering
messages as they believe they are accepted by the public,
starting from the phrase “he stole but he also achieved
something” to the phrase “we cannot be more Catholic than
the Pope.” Regardless of what we have inherited, it is
necessary that, in order to stop corruption and especially to
promote meritocracy, the staff in state institutions, paid
from public money, have the duty to be transparent in
corporate communication and especially to be in the camp
of truth and not of the people with a questionable reputation,
even if they are their employers.
Keywords: crises, corporate, communication.

ETHICS IN INSTITUTIONAL COMMUNICATION – BETWEEN REGULATION AND IMPLEMENTATION

Mihail ORZEAŢĂ1    << Back to contents

Abstract
Ethics in institutional communication is regulated
according to the national and international norms – laws,
conventions, regulations, instructions, provisions, orders,
codes of conduct (codes of ethics), respectively and other
official documents specific to each institution.Despite the
existing regulatory framework and instruments to protect
ethics in institutional communication, violations of their
provisions are relatively frequent at both individual and
institutional levels. This situation has led to a reduction in
the trust of state populations in national and international
institutions. Through this article I intend to synthesize the
content of the relevant profile literature and to highlight
the discrepancies between the regulations regarding ethics
in institutional communication and the way of applying
the normative framework. I will also expose the impact of
the deviations from the legal norms on the behaviour and
morale of the population. Finally, I will also present some
proposals to improve compliance with ethical norms in
institutional communication. Given the breadth of the
topic, I will focus more on the relevant aspects of ethics in
institutional communication in Romania.
Keywords: codes of conduct, immoral behaviour, corruption,
institutional ethics, ethics in communication.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF CRISIS OF THE ROMANIAN ETHOS FOLLOWING THE ROMANIAN REVOLUTION OF DECEMBER 1989

Vasile MORAR1    << Back to contents

Abstract
Faced with this honourable intellectual presence, I do
not think it would be without interest to think together
about the theme-phenomenon: the Romanian ethos at the turn
of the times, almost two generations after the Romanian
Revolution. Due to the force of things, the analysis we
propose can only represent a brief, essentialized one. First
of all, we believe that there are no solid counterarguments
against the idea of crisis, for the time leading up to the
unconquering socialism, which collapsed irreversibly in ‘89.
Nor to accept that, after December 22, ‘89, we started dealing
with a different kind of crisis. The radical turn-split of ‘89
ended a crisis and paved the way for other structures: as real
as they were unexpected and unprepared. Hence the
premises of different crises, but still crises. The moral one
seems to us to be the top and quintessence of the others.
Keywords: crisis, Romanian ethos, Romanian Revolution.

ONLINE BUSINESS JOURNALS FROM THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA AND THE MODERN DIGITAL FORMATS: MYBUSINESS. MD AND BUSINESSCLASS. MD

Ludmila RUSNAC1    << Back to contents

Abstract
The business press represents a mass media segment
designed to ensure the information needs of the
representatives of the entrepreneurial field, ensuring an
informational space that promotes business development.
In the information space of the Republic of Moldova,
increased attention is paid to economic journalism,
measures to strengthen this segment of the mass media
being initiated and implemented. Within the limits of the
research initiated in this article, we propose to carry out a
content-analysis and to investigate the particularities of
business media in the online environment. In order to do
so, we have identified two types of online content,
specialized in the field of business, both highly rated on
the domestic market: a niche information platform and the
online version of a monthly print business journal.
Keywords: business, media, digital.

XENOBOTS, BETWEEN TECHNICAL POSSIBILITIES AND NORMATIVE PROHIBITIONS IN MILITARY ACTIONS

Georgel RUSU1    << Back to contents

Abstract
The scientific and applied research leads day by day to
achievements unbelievable some time ago. The results also
mean spectacularity, often bordering on the imagination,
but also a fast pace with a high speed of appearance of
novelties. An enumeration of the results that “broke the
incredible” must include Dolly (the sheep cloned in 1996),
Eva (Adevarul, 2002) (Eve) the first cloned human being
(USA in 2002, the year of the sheep’s death!), the
technological steps taken in terms of transhumanism
(implants and improvements of trivial level (vaccine,
contact lenses, etc.) or conventional (Alexander, 2015)
(drugs for mental potentiation, bionic prostheses, more
recently implants under the skin (Buhnici, 2017) or
dedicated chip brains, etc.... (Neuralink, Neuravista,
Second Sight (the bionic eyes).

RĂZVAN THEODORESCU – HISTORIAN AND PROFESSOR

Ioan OPRIȘ1    << Back to contents

Abstract
A scholar of Răzvan Theodorescu’s stature cannot be
easily evoked since his personality has surpassed
exceptionality. We will not do it either, and it is not appropriate.
Therefore, the pious evocation occasioned by this prestigious
meeting at Apollonia University in Iasi is of visible onesidedness.
It is true that neither the brief respite elapsed since
his unexpected disappearance, nor the tumult of radical
changes in the contemporary world – which, visibly, engages
us all – are conducive to a memorable restitution at all close
to the encyclopaedic profile that accompanies the figure of the
late scholar. Seldomly, and not in every generation,
personalities like Răzvan Theodorescu appear.

THE AESTHETIC IMPACT OF ICTS ON TELEVISED DEBATES IN CAMEROON

Paul N. ANIMBOM1    << Back to contents

Abstract
The advent of Television as a means of communication
came with many challenges as it sought to distinguish itself
from the already existing radio and print media. To
effectively win viewership, TV production has to constantly
battle with both the existing technologies and the emerging
ones. Starting with analogue to the present digital form of
broadcasting, TV programmes, most especially, televised
debates or talk shows make constant use of ICT tools in
the design, production, and transmission processes. The
utilisation of these tools inevitably transforms the
programmes into more interesting and sophisticated ones,
though, the content can be lacking. This paper delves into
the aesthetic presentation of ICTs on television programmes
in Cameroon particularly on two renowned televised
debates: Press Hour and Canal Presse. It adopts a content
analysis method to examine the place of ICTs in the
amelioration of TV programmes. From the study, it is seen
that the advent of the TV was analogue, and the arrival of
New Information and Communication Technologies
completely changed the production landscape to digital
thereby giving a completely different aesthetic look to the
programmes.
Keywords: aesthetics, new technologies, communication,
talk shows, television production.

SOCIAL ANXIETY IN ADOLESCENTS

Ilinca MANOLIU1    << Back to contents

Abstract
It has been argued that the history of anxiety and
depression should be interpreted as an interaction of cultural
changes as well as changes not only in psychopathological
symptoms per se, but also in their scientific interpretation,
hence the increased interest in addressing such a topic and
in carrying out an approach of knowing the peculiarities
and emphases characteristic to such an analysis. The current
fascination of clinicians and researchers with the biological
approach, therefore, comes as no surprise. This approach
seems to hold the promise of control and tangible results, in
contrast to the unpredictable and much less concrete results
achieved by the psychological and social intervention.
However, it is necessary to issue a warning at this time, since
history has shown us how difficult psychopathological
reality can be resolved. The history of the classification of
anxiety and depression serves to emphasize that a dose of
scepticism was often appropriate. Whenever attempts have
been made to refine a particular theory, or combination of
theories, the clinical reality has always been shown to have
an overabundance of ambiguity and unpredictability. In
general, the longitudinal clinical observation has advanced
the idea of classifying anxiety disorders, and especially
mood disorders, more than any other classification based
on preconceived theoretical assumptions. Given the
controversy between unitarians and separatists, a
combination of longitudinal and interdisciplinary (biopsychosocial)
research would seem to hold a particular
promise for the future (Kasper et al., 2003).
Keywords: social anxiety, adolescents, depression, mood
disorder.

Proceedings of International Congress “By promoting excellence we prepare the future”

APOLLONIA UNIVERSITY OF IAŞI in collaboration with Academy of Medical Sciences    << Back to contents

Abstract
In today’s rapidly changing digital landscape, maintaining regulatory compliance has become a
difficult undertaking for businesses in all sectors. The advent of cutting-edge technologies like big
data analytics, blockchain, and artificial intelligence has compelled the development of original
solutions to ensure regulatory compliance. All organisations subject to regulations now have to have
a robust programme for ethics and corporate compliance. Apart from guaranteeing adherence to
diverse legislation, this kind of programme aids businesses in anticipating hazards, enhancing moral
conduct within the organisation, and preparing for audits. A “risk appetite statement,” which is the
organization’s agreement on the acceptable levels of risk to achieve the company’s strategic objectives,
is used to incorporate this into the compliance framework of the business. Our presentation will
illustrate what problems are faced when the business growth outweighs the proper adherence to
AML, thus the ethical dilemma.
Keywords: AML, security, regulations, business growth, ethics.
